Car
If you are traveling by car, make your way to Budapest from any point in Transdanubia. Use the M1 or M7 highways, which connect Transdanubia to Budapest. Once you reach Budapest, follow signs for the city center and then for 'Buda.' As you approach Buda, look for signs for 'Castle District.' You can park at one of the nearby parking garages such as 'Fővám tér' or 'Clark Ádám tér.' From there, it's about a 10-15 minute walk up to Fisherman's Bastion.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a train or bus from your location in Transdanubia to Budapest. Once in Budapest, you can take the Metro Line 2 (Red Line) to the 'Deák Ferenc tér' station. From there, transfer to the Metro Line 4 (Green Line) and get off at 'Széll Kálmán tér.' Exit the station and take Tram 61 or 17 towards 'Dózsa György út.' Disembark at 'Tóth Árpád sétány' stop. From this stop, it's a short 10-minute walk uphill to Fisherman's Bastion. Be sure to have a Budapest public transport ticket, which costs around 350 HUF (approx. 1 EUR) for a single ride.
Walking
If you are already in the Castle District or nearby areas, Fisherman's Bastion is easily accessible on foot. Look for the signs leading to the Fisherman's Bastion from the Buda Castle area. The walk offers beautiful views of the Danube River and the Parliament Building. The path is well-marked and takes about 10 minutes from the Buda Castle.
Taxi/Ride-Sharing
If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a taxi or a ride-sharing service such as Bolt or Uber. Simply input 'Fisherman's Bastion, Budapest' as your destination. The fare will vary based on your starting location but expect to pay approximately 1,500 - 3,500 HUF (approx. 4 - 10 EUR) for a ride within Budapest.
