Train
To get to Gellért Hill Cave in Budapest from Vác, start by taking a train from Vác railway station to Budapest-Nyugati railway station. Trains run frequently, so check the schedule for the next departure. Once you arrive at Budapest-Nyugati, follow the signs to the metro station and take Metro Line 3 (the blue line) towards Kőbánya-Kispest. Get off at Deák Ferenc tér station. From there, transfer to Metro Line 2 (the red line) towards Örs vezér tere and get off at Széll Kálmán tér. Exit the station and walk towards the tram stop. Take Tram Line 61 or 56 from Széll Kálmán tér towards the Gellért Hill stop. From the tram stop, walk along Szent Gellért rkp. until you reach Gellért Hill Cave at Szent Gellért rkp. 1.

To reach Gellért Hill Cave via bus, walk to the Váci bus station and catch a bus headed to Budapest. The most common route is to take the bus to the nearest metro station, such as Káposztásmegyer or Megyeri híd. Once in Budapest, transfer to public transport heading towards the city center. Get off at the nearest metro station to Gellért Hill, which is Szent Gellért tér. From the station, follow the signs towards Szent Gellért rkp. to find the cave.
