Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, navigate to Tatabánya, located at coordinates 47.5881° N, 18.4078° E. From the center of Tatabánya, follow the signs for the Turul Monument. You can park your car at the designated parking area near the monument. The road leading to the monument is well-maintained and easily accessible. Make sure to check for parking fees, as some areas may require a small fee.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a train to Tatabánya from Budapest or other nearby cities. Upon arriving at Tatabánya train station, you can take a local bus (Bus Line 12 or 17) towards the Turul Monument. The bus stop is located just outside the train station. Disembark at the Turul Monument stop, which is only a short walk from the monument itself. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as service may vary.

• Walking

  If you are already in the vicinity of the monument, you can walk to it from various nearby locations in the Vértes Mountains. Look for local trails leading to the Turul Monument, which is prominently located on a hill. The walk may take about 20-30 minutes depending on your starting point. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes as the paths can be uneven.
