Public Transport
From Veszprém city center, walk to the Veszprém bus station (Autóbusz-állomás), which is located at the end of Kossuth Lajos utca. Once there, catch a bus heading towards Balatonfüred or Tihany. The buses are frequent, operating every 30 minutes or so. The journey to Lake Balaton will take approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Get off at the stop closest to your desired location on Lake Balaton.
Walking
If you are already near the Veszprém castle area, you can take a scenic walk towards Lake Balaton. Head down from the castle and make your way to the Kossuth Lajos utca, then follow it straight to the bus station to catch a bus to Balaton. Alternatively, if you prefer to walk, you can follow the hiking trails that lead towards the lake, but be prepared for a longer journey of several hours.
Bicycle Rental
You can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Veszprém. From the city center, head towards the bike path on Balatonalmádi road (Balatonalmádi út) that leads directly to Lake Balaton. It’s around a 15 km ride, taking approximately 1 hour. Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way!
