From Veszprém city center, head to the Veszprém bus station located at Kossuth Lajos utca 1. Look for the bus routes heading towards Zirc, specifically bus number 21 or 22. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Zirc bus station, exit the bus and walk towards the main square, Rákóczi tér. The Zirc Abbey is located directly at Rákóczi tér 1, just a short 5-minute walk from the bus station.
Train
If you prefer to travel by train, walk to the Veszprém train station located at Balatonfői úti 2. Take a train towards Zirc, which operates less frequently than buses, so be sure to check the schedule in advance. The train journey will take around 25 minutes. Upon arriving at Zirc train station, exit and walk straight towards Rákóczi tér, where the Zirc Abbey is located at number 1. This walk will take approximately 10 minutes.
Walking
If you are close to the city center and prefer to explore on foot, you can enjoy a scenic walk to Zirc. Start from the Veszprém main square (Kossuth Lajos tér) and head northeast toward the Veszprém bus station. From there, take the road leading to Zirc, which is approximately 15 kilometers away. This walk can take around 3 to 4 hours, so ensure you're prepared for a longer trek.
