Getting There

• Public Bus

  From the Akureyri city center, head to the bus station located at Hringbraut 102. Take Bus number 7, which runs regularly towards Vaðlaskógur. The bus ride takes approximately 15 minutes. You will need to disembark at the stop named 'Vaðlaskógur'. From the bus stop, follow the signs towards Forest Lagoon, which is a short 5-minute walk to the northeast. You will see the entrance clearly marked.

• Bicycle

  If you're comfortable biking, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Akureyri. Start from the city center and ride towards Vaðlaskógur, following the main road, which is well-marked. The ride should take about 20-30 minutes, depending on your pace. Once you reach Vaðlaskógur, look for the entrance to Forest Lagoon on your right.

• Walking

  For those who prefer to walk, you can start at the Akureyri Church (Akureyrarkirkja) as a central point. Head down to the main road (Hringbraut) and walk towards Vaðlaskógur. The walk takes about 40-50 minutes, following the path along the scenic views of the town. Look for signs directing you to Forest Lagoon once you reach the Vaðlaskógur area.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can easily call a taxi from anywhere in Akureyri. Just provide the driver with the address: Vaðlaskógur 605, 605 Akureyri. The taxi ride will take around 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic.
