Walking
From the center of Akureyri, begin at the Akureyri Church (Akureyrarkirkja) located at Geislagata 1. Head north on Geislagata and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Strandgata. Turn left onto Strandgata and follow it along the coastline. As you walk, enjoy the stunning views of Eyjafjörður. Continue until you reach the junction with Skipagata, then turn right onto Skipagata. Follow this road until it curves and becomes Naustaborgir Road. Continue walking straight, and you will see signs for Naustaborgir. The hiking area is located at approximately 600 Akureyri.
Public Transport
From Akureyri's main bus terminal (Strætó bus station), take bus number 1 towards 'Hrafnagil'. Ask the driver to let you off at the stop closest to Naustaborgir, which is 'Naustaborgir'. The bus will take you along the waterfront, so enjoy the views. Once you disembark, follow the signs leading to the hiking area, which is a short walk from the bus stop.
