Walking
From the center of Akureyri, start at the Akureyri Tourist Information Center located at Hafnarstræti 11. Head south on Hafnarstræti towards Glerárgata. Turn left onto Glerárgata and walk until you reach the intersection with Þjóðvegur road. Turn right onto Þjóðvegur and continue walking for about 5 kilometers. You will pass several small shops and cafes along the way. Be sure to watch for road signs indicating Tunneleingang 1. The entrance is located on your right side.

Rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in central Akureyri, such as Akureyri Bike Rental.
