From any location in Borgarfjörður, start by heading towards Route 1 (the Ring Road). Follow Route 1 eastbound until you reach the junction for Route 54 towards Borgarnes. Continue on Route 54 until you reach the town of Borgarnes. From Borgarnes, take Route 1 southbound. Continue driving for approximately 70 km until you reach the capital city, Reykjavík. Once in Reykjavík, follow the signs to Miðborg. Tjörnin is located in the city center at the coordinates (64.14362, -21.942018). You will find parking options nearby, but be mindful of any parking fees that may apply.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take the bus from Borgarfjörður to Reykjavík. The bus service is operated by Strætó. You can catch the bus from the main bus stop in Borgarfjörður. Check the Strætó website for the latest schedule and fares. Once you arrive at the central bus terminal in Reykjavík, you can either walk or take a local bus to Tjörnin. If walking, head towards Miðborg, and follow the signs for Tjörnin, which is approximately a 20-minute walk from the bus terminal. If taking a local bus, routes 1 and 5 will take you close to Tjörnin.
