From Borgarnes, head to the Borgarnes Bus Station located at Skagfirðingabraut 20. Look for the bus service to Reykjavík, which stops at Thingvellir National Park. Please check the bus schedule in advance for the exact departure times.

If you are comfortable riding a bicycle, you can rent one from a local shop in Borgarnes. Start at the center of Borgarnes and take the road that leads south towards Route 1 (the Ring Road). Once on Route 1, head east towards Reykjavík. Continue for about 40 kilometers until you reach the signs for Thingvellir National Park. Follow the signs to the park entrance. Be mindful of traffic and wear a helmet for safety.

Walking to Thingvellir National Park from Borgarnes is not recommended due to the distance (approximately 40 km). However, if you are determined, head south from Borgarnes center towards Route 1. Follow Route 1 eastward, but be aware that there are no dedicated pedestrian paths and the journey will take several hours. It is advisable to arrange for a bus or bicycle instead for safety and convenience.
