Walking
Start from the center of Borgarnes, near the Borgarnes Museum. Head north on Borgarbraut road towards the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading towards Akranes. Continue walking along this road for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the trailhead for Glymur Waterfall, which is well-marked. The hike to the waterfall from this point takes about 2-3 hours round trip.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Borgarnes. Start from Borgarnes town center and cycle north along Borgarbraut road. Follow the road for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Route 1 heading towards Akranes. Continue cycling until you find the well-marked trailhead for Glymur Waterfall. The cycling distance is approximately 2 kilometers, and the hike to the waterfall will take an additional 2-3 hours round trip.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can book a taxi from any point in Borgarnes. Inform the driver that you want to go to Glymur Waterfall. The taxi will take you directly to the trailhead, which is around 10 kilometers from Borgarnes. Enjoy the scenic drive as you approach the waterfall. Once dropped off, follow the marked trail to the waterfall, which takes about 2-3 hours for a round trip hike.
