Once you arrive at the bus stop nearest to Glymur Waterfall, you'll need to follow the trail signs that lead to the waterfall. The trail starts from the parking area and is marked clearly. The hike itself is moderately difficult and will take around 2-3 hours to reach the waterfall, depending on your pace. Follow the path that winds up the hillside and enjoy the stunning views along the way. Keep an eye out for the river and the unique rock formations.

If you are feeling adventurous and the distance permits, you can walk from Borgarnes to the trailhead. This is a long walk of approximately 15 km (about 9 miles) and will take around 3-4 hours. Begin your journey on Route 1 heading south out of Borgarnes. Look for signs directing you to Glymur Waterfall along the way. Once you reach the trailhead, follow the marked path to the waterfall.
