Start from Borgarnes town center. Head south on Aðalgata street towards the intersection with Bjargargata. Turn right onto Bjargargata and continue straight. You will pass several shops and cafes. At the end of Bjargargata, take a left onto Borgarbraut road. Continue walking for about 1 kilometer until you reach the bus stop labeled 'Borgarnes'.

From the Borgarnes bus stop, look for the bus heading towards Reykjavik. Get on this bus and inform the driver that you want to get off at Seltjarnarnes. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you reach Seltjarnarnes, ask the driver for the closest stop to Grótta Island Lighthouse.

After getting off the bus, head towards the coastline. Follow the path that leads to Grótta Island, which is accessible during low tide. Walk along the path for about 500 meters until you reach the Grótta Island Lighthouse. The lighthouse is located on the island, so be mindful of the tides and ensure you return before the water rises.
