Getting There

    From Dynjandi Waterfall, take Route 60 heading east towards Þingeyri. Continue on Route 60 for about 38 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 61. Turn left onto Route 61 and drive for approximately 10 kilometers. Watch for signs leading to Skrúður, which is located at WCHH+J2P, 471 Núpur. The drive will take around 50 minutes in total. Be sure to check the road conditions before setting out, as weather can affect travel times.

    Unfortunately, public transportation options are limited in this remote area of Iceland. You can check local bus schedules from Þingeyri to Núpur, but be prepared for limited service. If you can find a bus that goes to Núpur, you will need to walk the remaining distance (about 5 kilometers) to Skrúður. The walk will take around 1 hour and will be along scenic routes.
