Getting There

    If you are driving from Egilsstaðir, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading east. Continue for approximately 35 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 93. Turn left onto Route 93 and follow it for about 10 kilometers until you reach the town of Seyðisfjörður. From Seyðisfjörður, continue on Route 93 for another 5 kilometers until the road forks. Take the right fork towards Stórurð, following the signs for the hiking area. Park your car at the designated parking area, and from there, it’s a short hike to Stórurð, which is approximately 2 kilometers away.

    For those using public transportation, take a bus from Egilsstaðir to Seyðisfjörður. The bus service operates several times a day, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Upon arriving in Seyðisfjörður, you will need to either walk or taxi to the start of the hiking trail leading to Stórurð.
