If you are starting from Djupivogur, head northwest on Route 1 (the Ring Road) toward Egilsstaðir. After approximately 13 kilometers, turn left onto Route 965 toward Eyjólfsstaðir. Continue for about 5 kilometers, where you will see signs for Nykurhylsfoss (Sveinsstekksfoss). There is a small parking area near the waterfall where you can safely park your vehicle.

The taxi ride from Egilsstaðir to Nykurhylsfoss will take about 30 minutes and will cost approximately ISK 10,000 - 15,000.
