Car
If you are driving from Egilsstaðir, take Route 1 (Þjóðvegur) heading east towards Seyðisfjörður. Continue on Route 1 for about 30 kilometers until you reach the junction for Route 781. Take a left onto Route 781. Follow this road for approximately 10 kilometers until you arrive at Skútafoss. There is ample parking available near the waterfall, making it easy to access the viewing areas.
Public Transportation
From Egilsstaðir, you can take a bus heading towards Seyðisfjörður. Check the local bus schedules as they may vary. Once you reach Seyðisfjörður, you will need to arrange for a taxi or a ride-share service to take you to Skútafoss, as public transport does not directly reach the waterfall. The taxi ride will take about 20 minutes and may cost around 5,000 ISK, depending on the provider.
