Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest town, Egilsstaðir. Head north on Route 1 (the Ring Road) for approximately 28 km until you reach the junction with Route 923. Turn left onto Route 923 and continue for about 16 km. You will see signs directing you to Stuðlafoss Waterfall. The parking area is located near the waterfall, and there is no parking fee.
Public Transportation
If you're using public transportation, take a bus from Egilsstaðir to the nearby town of Mjóifjörður. From Mjóifjörður, you may need to arrange a taxi or shuttle service to reach the waterfall, as public transport may not cover the last stretch. It's advisable to check the bus schedules ahead of time and book your taxi in advance, as services can be limited in the area.
Walking
If you park your car at the designated area, the walk to Stuðlafoss Waterfall is about 1 km. Follow the marked path which leads you through beautiful landscapes. The trail is generally well-maintained, but it can be uneven, so wear appropriate footwear.
