Car
If you are traveling by car, start on Route 1, the Ring Road. Head east until you reach the junction with Fljótsdalsvegur (Route 931). Turn onto Fljótsdalsvegur and continue for approximately 20 km. You will see Tófufoss on your left. There is a small parking area nearby where you can stop to enjoy the view.
Public Transportation
Take a bus from Egilsstaðir to the nearest stop on Fljótsdalsvegur. You will need to check the local bus schedules as they can vary. Once you reach the nearest stop, it will be necessary to walk approximately 5 km along Fljótsdalsvegur to reach Tófufoss. Ensure you are prepared for walking along the road, as there may be limited pedestrian paths.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Egilsstaðir. Follow Route 1 heading east to the junction with Fljótsdalsvegur. Cycle along Fljótsdalsvegur for about 20 km. The route is scenic, but be cautious of traffic. There are spots to rest and take in the beautiful landscape along the way.
