Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, make your way to Egilsstaðir, the largest town in the Eastfjords of Iceland. From Egilsstaðir, take Route 93 heading north. Continue on this road for about 7 kilometers (approximately 4.3 miles) until you reach the parking area for Fardagafoss, which is located at coordinates 65.2686, -14.3152. The waterfall is a short hike from the parking area, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.

Public Transportation

For those using public transportation, take a bus from Egilsstaðir to the nearest stop along Route 93. The bus may not run frequently, so check the schedule in advance. From the bus stop, you will need to walk approximately 3 kilometers (about 1.9 miles) to reach the parking area for Fardagafoss. Make sure to plan your return trip accordingly, as the bus service may have limited hours.

Hiking

Once you arrive at the parking area, the path to Fardagafoss is well-marked and offers a scenic hike. It takes about 30 minutes to walk to the waterfall.
