From Egilsstadir, head to the Egilsstadir Bus Station located in the city center. Check the schedule for buses heading to Seydisfjordur, which usually run a few times a day. Once on the bus, enjoy the scenic ride, which takes approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival in Seydisfjordur, follow the signs towards the town center, and then look for signs leading to Gufu waterfall. It is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and want to enjoy some local scenery, you can walk from Egilsstadir to Seydisfjordur. This route is approximately 16 kilometers and will take about 3 to 4 hours. Start from the center of Egilsstadir and follow Route 93 towards Seydisfjordur. The path is scenic, but make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water. Once in Seydisfjordur, follow the same directions as above to reach Gufu waterfall.
Bicycle
For those who enjoy cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Egilsstadir. Bike along Route 93 towards Seydisfjordur. The ride is picturesque but be prepared for some uphill sections. It should take around 1.5 to 2 hours to reach Seydisfjordur. After arriving, park your bicycle and follow the signs to Gufu waterfall, which is a 15-minute walk from the town center.
