Car
From Fimmvorduhals Pass, head southeast on Route 1 (Ring Road) towards Selfoss. Continue for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 35. Turn left onto Route 35, also known as the Golden Circle route, towards Bláskógabyggð. After about 30 kilometers, turn right onto Route 36 towards Þingvellir National Park. Follow this road until you reach the town of Bláskógabyggð. Brúarfoss is located at Hlauptunga, 806 Bláskógabyggð, approximately 5 kilometers from the main road. There is a parking area near the site, but note that there may be a small fee for parking.
Public Transportation
From Fimmvorduhals Pass, take a bus towards Selfoss. Check the local bus schedule for departure times. Upon reaching Selfoss, transfer to a bus heading towards Bláskógabyggð. You may need to check schedules in advance, as public transport can be limited. Once you arrive in Bláskógabyggð, you can either walk approximately 5 kilometers to Brúarfoss or arrange a local taxi, which may cost around 3,000-5,000 ISK depending on the distance and time.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Bláskógabyggð, you can walk from the town center to Brúarfoss. Start at the main square of Bláskógabyggð and head north on the nearest walking trail. Follow signs directing you to Brúarfoss. The walk is approximately 5 kilometers and will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Be sure to wear sturdy footwear and check the weather conditions before starting your hike.
