Getting There

    If you are driving from Reykjavik, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) towards the south. After approximately 40 km, take the exit onto Route 36 towards Þingvellir National Park. Continue on Route 36 for about 30 km, where you will enter the national park. Follow the signs for parking areas within Þingvellir. Once parked, you will need to walk a short distance to reach Peningagjá, which is located within the park.

    To reach Peningagjá via public transport, take the bus from Reykjavik to Þingvellir National Park. The bus service operates regularly, and you can find schedules on the Strætó website or at the bus terminal. Once you arrive at the Þingvellir bus stop, it is a short walk to reach Peningagjá.
