Car
If you're driving to Hveravellir, start from the Golden Circle route. Head north on Route 36 towards Thingvellir National Park. After approximately 20 km, take Route 37. Continue until you reach the junction with Route 35, then turn left onto Route 35. Follow Route 35 for about 30 km until you reach the turn-off for Hveravellir, which is clearly marked. Turn onto the gravel road and follow it for about 10 km to the Hveravellir Nature Reserve.
Public Transportation
To visit Hveravellir via public transportation, you will need to take a bus from Reykjavík. First, take the Strætó bus number 1 from the BSI Bus Terminal in Reykjavík to Gullfoss. From Gullfoss, you can find a tour operator that offers rides to Hveravellir. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance as services may vary. It's advisable to pre-book a tour or check for shuttle services that operate in the area during the tourist season.
