From the center of Grindavik, head east on Suðurgata street. Continue straight for about 4.5 kilometers until you reach the outskirts of Reykjavík. You will notice the area transitioning from Grindavik's rural landscape to the urban setting of Reykjavík. As you approach the city, look for signs that indicate the direction of the Hólavallagarður cemetery. The cemetery is located at 43V2+RRG, Suðurgata, which is a notable landmark in the area.
Public Transport
To reach Hólavallagarður from Grindavik, you can take a bus from the Grindavik bus station. Look for Bus Line 55 that heads towards Reykjavík. Once on the bus, stay on for approximately 30 minutes. Disembark at the 'Hlemmur' bus station in Reykjavík. From Hlemmur, walk west along the main road, and then turn left on Suðurgata. Continue walking for about 20 minutes until you reach Hólavallagarður, which will be on your right.
