Wonderful trip to the Golden Circle and Blue Lagoon. In addition we saw falls, craters and other fun activities. Our guide , Mikki, was wonderful . Full of knowledge and helpful tidbits. Highly recommend this tour.

Small Group Volcano Hike with a Professional Geologist
Volcano hike from a 66 year old lady
The hike was amazing! Learned a lot about the history of volcanoes in Iceland, learned much about the different types of lava, minerals, ash, gases, soil, fissures and much more having to due with volcanoes. You should be in good shape to do this hike and dress warmly with gloves. We hiked to a height about equivalent to over 50 flights of stairs. Be aware you are hiking up loose volcanic rocks and there is no safety net or railing! This is much different from hiking on a flat surface. Our guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable, took enough breaks to explain what was going on around us. We were about 3 miles from the active volcano. We could see the mountain. When you reach the highest point there are many flowering mosses growing on the rocky ground.
