    Start at the center of Hafnarfjordur, near the Hafnarfjordur town square. Head north on Aðalstræti street towards the waterfront. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Götusmíð street. Turn left on Götusmíð and continue straight. After about 1 kilometer, you will reach the bus stop for Bus Line 1 (Hafnarfjordur - Reykjavik). Take Bus Line 1 towards Reykjavik and get off at the 'Hafnarfjordur - Brekkustígur' stop. From there, walk east along Brekkustígur until you reach the intersection with Helgafell road. Follow Helgafell road up to the base of Helgafell mountain. The hiking trail starts here.
