Car
From Hengifoss Waterfall, head southwest on the main road (Route 1) towards Reyðarfjörður. Continue for approximately 23 kilometers (about 30 minutes) until you reach Reyðarfjörður. Once in Reyðarfjörður, look for signs directing you towards Búðará Canyon. Follow the local roads to the coordinates 2QQW+WX6, which is the location of Búðará Canyon. Note that parking may be limited, so be prepared to park in designated areas.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take a bus from the nearest bus stop in Egilsstaðir towards Reyðarfjörður. The bus will take you directly to Reyðarfjörður. Once you arrive, you may need to walk or use a local taxi service to reach Búðará Canyon, which is about 5 kilometers from the bus stop. Check local bus schedules for the latest times and availability, as they may vary.
Walking
For those who are already in Reyðarfjörður, you can walk to Búðará Canyon. Start from the town center and head towards the coast. Follow the path along the river, and the canyon should be accessible via marked trails. The walk is scenic and will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours depending on your pace.
