Getting there

Walking

From Hengifoss Waterfall, follow the marked hiking trail that leads you back down the path you came from. The trail is well-marked, and the scenery is beautiful. After about 1 kilometer, look for a sign indicating the path to Fardagafoss. This diversion will take you through some lush landscapes. Continue on this trail for approximately 3 kilometers until you reach Fardagafoss. The trail may have some steep sections, so wear sturdy shoes and be prepared for a bit of a climb.

Car

If you are driving, exit the Hengifoss parking area and head back towards Egilsstaðir on the Seyðisfjarðarvegur road (Route 1). Drive for about 15 kilometers until you see a sign for Fardagafoss. Turn left onto the dirt road leading to a small parking area. From there, follow the marked trail for about 1 kilometer to reach the waterfall. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for gravel roads, as some sections may be rough.

Public Transportation

Take a bus from Egilsstaðir to Seyðisfjörður. Once you arrive in Seyðisfjörður, you can either walk (which is about a 20-minute walk) or take a local taxi service to the Fardagafoss trailhead. Keep in mind that bus schedules may vary, so check the local timetable for the most accurate information. Ensure to plan ahead for your return trip, as public transport may not run frequently.
