Car
From Hengifoss Waterfall, get back on Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading east. After approximately 11 kilometers, take the exit toward Route 94 towards Hof. Continue on Route 94 for about 15 kilometers. You'll see signs for Grófarlækjarfoss, where you will need to turn left onto a smaller gravel road. The waterfall is located a short drive down this road. Be cautious, as some sections may be rough. Park in the designated area and follow the path to the waterfall.
Public Transportation
From Hengifoss Waterfall, you may need to take a local bus back to Egilsstaðir. Once in Egilsstaðir, find the nearest bus service that goes towards Hof. Check the local schedules for the most accurate times. After arriving in Hof, you will need to walk approximately 3 kilometers to reach Grófarlækjarfoss. Look for signs directing you to the waterfall, or use a GPS-enabled device for navigation.
Walking
If you're already near Hengifoss and looking for a more adventurous route, you can hike towards Grófarlækjarfoss. Follow the path east from Hengifoss, crossing the river at a suitable point. The hike is approximately 7 kilometers and will take around 2-3 hours, depending on your pace. Be prepared for varying terrain and ensure you have proper hiking equipment.
