From Hengifoss Waterfall, head back to the main road (Route 1). Take a left onto Route 1 heading west. Continue on Route 1 for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the junction for Route 931. Turn right onto Route 931 and continue for about 5 kilometers until you see a sign for Kirkjufoss. Follow the signs leading to Kirkjufoss, which will guide you to the parking area near the waterfall.

Public Transportation
From Hengifoss Waterfall, you will need to return to Egilsstaðir where you can catch a bus. Head back to the main road (Route 1) and find the nearest bus stop to catch a bus to Egilsstaðir. Once in Egilsstaðir, check the local bus service for connections to Route 931 towards Kirkjufoss. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance as they may not run frequently.

Walking
If you are adventurous and in good physical condition, from Hengifoss Waterfall, you can hike back to Route 1, then follow the road on foot for about 15 kilometers to the junction for Route 931. This hike will take you through some beautiful landscapes, but please ensure you have adequate time and supplies, as it can take several hours to complete.
