From Reykjavík, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading southeast. Continue on Route 1 for approximately 90 kilometers until you reach the town of Selfoss. At Selfoss, follow the signs to Route 35 and turn left. Continue on Route 35 for about 25 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 30. Turn right onto Route 30 and drive for another 15 kilometers. Look for a small dirt road leading towards Nýifoss; the waterfall is located approximately 1 kilometer down this road. Note that this road can be rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended for comfort and safety.

From Reykjavík, take a bus to Selfoss. Buses are operated by Strætó and the journey takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once in Selfoss, you can either rent a car or take a local taxi to reach Nýifoss. If you choose to rent a car, head out of Selfoss via Route 35 and follow the same directions as stated above. If you take a taxi, ensure you discuss the fare beforehand, as it may vary based on the distance.
