Getting There

Walking
From the center of Húsavík, head south on Aðalgata road. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Bjargargata. Turn left onto Bjargargata and continue until you see the signs for the Húsavík harbor. Follow the signs to the harbor area, where you will find a bus stop. Look for the local bus service that goes towards Kópasker, which will take you closer to your destination.

Take the local bus from Húsavík to Kópasker. Buses usually run a couple of times a day, so check the current schedule at the bus stop or online. Once you are on the bus, stay on until you reach the Kópasker stop. From there, you can walk towards Ásbyrgi by following the signs. It’s about a 30-minute walk from Kópasker to the Ásbyrgi Visitor Centre.

If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Húsavík. Head south on Aðalgata, then take the right towards Bjargargata. From there, follow the road signs towards Kópasker. The journey will take about an hour depending on your cycling speed. Once you arrive in Kópasker, follow the signs directing you to Ásbyrgi, which is approximately a 30-minute ride from Kópasker.
