Bus
From Husavik, start at the main bus station located in the town center. Look for the bus that heads towards Mývatn and check the schedule for the next departure. The journey takes about 1 hour. Get off at the stop for 'Mývatn' or 'Víti.' From the bus stop, you will need to walk approximately 10-15 minutes toward the Víti crater. Follow the signs towards the geothermal area, and you will see the crater from a distance.

Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Husavik. Start your ride heading east on Route 85. Continue until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Turn left onto Route 1 and continue for about 7 kilometers. Look for a sign indicating the turnoff for Víti. The ride is scenic, and you can enjoy views of the surrounding landscapes. After the turnoff, it’s a short ride (about 2 kilometers) to reach the crater.

For a more adventurous option, you can hike to Víti. From Husavik, head towards the east on Route 85. This route is about 10 kilometers long and will take approximately 2-3 hours on foot. Make sure to pack water and snacks. Follow the path that leads towards the geothermal area. It might be a long walk, but the scenery along the way is breathtaking, providing views of the surrounding hills and lakes.
