Walking
From the center of Húsavík, start at the Húsavík Whale Museum located on Garðarsbraut 1. Exit the museum and head southeast on Garðarsbraut toward the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Þjóðvegur (Route 1) heading south. Continue on Route 1 for about 30 kilometers (approximately 20 minutes walking). You will reach a point where you can see signs for Reykjahlíð. Look for a small path leading off the main road towards Stóragjá; this path is about 1 kilometer from the main road.

Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, rent one from a local shop in Húsavík. Start your journey at the Húsavík Whale Museum, and cycle southeast on Garðarsbraut until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto Þjóðvegur (Route 1) and continue for about 30 kilometers. After passing the sign for Reykjahlíð, look for a small path leading to Stóragjá, which is about 1 kilometer off the main road. Follow the path to reach the beautiful cave.

To reach Stóragjá via public transport, take a bus from Húsavík to Reykjahlíð. Check the local bus schedule for the latest routes and timings. Once you arrive in Reykjahlíð, you will need to walk approximately 1 kilometer to Stóragjá. Exit the bus and head towards the small path that leads to the cave, which should be marked. The walk will take you through scenic landscapes.
