From the center of Hveragerdi, head northeast on the main road (Skaftahlíð) towards the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Route 1 (Þjóðvegur 1) heading towards Reykjavík. Walk straight along the road for about 30 minutes until you reach the bus stop named 'Hveragerði'. Here you can catch a bus heading to Reykjavík. Ensure you check the bus schedules in advance.

To get to Reykjavík, you can take the bus from the Hveragerði bus stop. Look for the bus number 51 or 57, which will take you directly to Reykjavík. The journey typically takes about 40 minutes. Once you arrive in Reykjavík, get off at the bus terminal (BSÍ), which is centrally located. From there, you can either walk or take a local bus to Laugavegur.
