If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Hveragerði. Head west on Þjóðvegur 1 (Route 1) towards Reykjavík. Continue on Route 1 for about 45 km (28 miles) until you reach the outskirts of Reykjavík. Take the exit toward Vesturbæjarbraut and merge onto the road. Follow signs for Miðborg, and then turn left onto Aðalstræti. Fógetagarðurinn will be located on your right at Aðalstræti 15.

To reach Fógetagarðurinn using public transportation, first locate the Hveragerði bus station. Take the bus number 1 (Strætó) towards Reykjavík. The journey will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive in Reykjavík, get off at the stop 'Hlemmur' or 'Lækjartorg'. From there, walk towards Aðalstræti, which is around a 10-minute walk. Fógetagarðurinn is located at Aðalstræti 15. Be sure to check the Strætó website for the latest bus schedules and fares, which typically cost around 490 ISK (about $3.50) for a single journey.
