Car
From Hveragerði, head southwest on Þjóðvegur 1 (Route 1) towards Selfoss. Continue on Route 1 for approximately 8 kilometers. Take the exit towards Biskupstungnabraut. After exiting, turn left onto Biskupstungnabraut and drive for about 1 kilometer. Stóri-Hellir will be on your left. Look for the sign marking the historical landmark.
Public Transportation
Take the public bus from Hveragerði to Selfoss. The bus usually departs from the central bus stop in Hveragerði. Once you arrive in Selfoss, transfer to a bus heading towards Biskupstungnabraut. Confirm with the bus driver that the bus stops near Stóri-Hellir. The total travel time may be around 30-45 minutes, including waiting times. Be sure to check the local bus schedule for timings. There may be a bus fare, typically around 1,500 ISK for the trip.

If you arrive by bus at the closest stop on Biskupstungnabraut, walk along the road for approximately 15 minutes. Head northeast on Biskupstungnabraut, and you will see Stóri-Hellir on your right. Follow the path leading up to the landmark.
