Walking
Starting from the center of Ísafjörður, head west on Aðalstræti toward the harbor. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Vestfjarðavegur. Turn left onto Vestfjarðavegur and follow the road. Keep walking along Vestfjarðavegur for approximately 7 kilometers. As you walk, enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding mountains and fjords. Once you reach the marked trailhead for Gljúfurárfoss Waterfall, you will see signs indicating the path to the waterfall. The trail is well-defined, and the waterfall is about a 30-minute hike from the trailhead.
Biking
If you prefer biking, rent a bicycle in Ísafjörður and head west on Aðalstræti toward the harbor. Continue to Vestfjarðavegur and turn left onto the road. Bike along Vestfjarðavegur for about 7 kilometers. The road is mostly flat, which makes for an enjoyable ride. Look for signs for Gljúfurárfoss Waterfall as you approach the area. Once you reach the trailhead, park your bike, and follow the walking trail to the waterfall, which will take approximately 30 minutes.
