From the center of Kopavogur, head to the nearest bus stop, which is typically located on the main road (Borgarvegur). Take bus number 1 towards Reykjavik. Stay on the bus for about 15-20 minutes until you reach the 'Kopavogur - Kópavogur' stop. From there, transfer to bus number 57 that goes to Krýsuvík. This bus will take you directly to the geothermal area. The total travel time should be around 40-50 minutes depending on bus schedules.

If you prefer to walk, start from the central area of Kopavogur and head towards the coast. Follow the path along the coastline towards the south. This will take you on a scenic route around the sea, but it is a long walk of approximately 10 kilometers. It may take around 2.5 to 3 hours to reach Krýsuvík on foot, so ensure you're prepared for a long trek and wear comfortable shoes.
