Car
If you are driving, start on Laugavegur Trail and head towards Þórsmerkurvegur. Follow the signs for Þórsmerkurvegur (Road 861). Continue on this road for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the parking area for Gljufrabui. There should be a sign indicating the entrance to the waterfall. Park your car, and from the parking area, it is about a 10-minute walk to the waterfall itself.
Public Transportation
To reach Gljufrabui using public transportation, take a bus from the nearest town (such as Hella or Selfoss) to Þórsmerkurvegur. Check the local bus schedules for service to the area. Once you arrive at the nearest bus stop on Þórsmerkurvegur, you may have to walk approximately 3 kilometers along the road to the parking area for Gljufrabui. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, as the terrain can be uneven.
Walking
If you are already on the Laugavegur Trail and wish to walk to Gljufrabui, head towards Þórsmerkurvegur. Follow the trail signs that lead you to the waterfall. It will take roughly 1 to 1.5 hours of walking time depending on your pace. The path is well-marked, but be aware that some sections may be muddy or slippery, particularly after rainfall.
