If you're driving to Hvanngil Hut, start your journey from Reykjavík. Take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading east. After about 80 km, look for the turn-off onto Route 30 towards Þingvellir. Continue on Route 30 until you reach Route 32, then turn onto Route 32. Follow Route 32 until you reach the intersection with Route 26, then follow Route 26 until you reach the junction with Route 1 again. Turn back onto Route 1 heading east until you see the sign for Landmannalaugar. From there, follow the signs to Hvanngil Hut. Note that the last part of the road may require a 4x4 vehicle due to rough terrain.
