Depending on the weather and road conditions, this drive can take 1.5 to 2 hours.

Take a bus from Reykjavík to Hella with the Strætó bus service. Once in Hella, you can catch a local bus that operates to Þórsmörk. Note that these buses may not run frequently, so check the schedule in advance. Once you arrive in Þórsmörk, you will need to arrange a 4x4 taxi or shuttle service to Markarfljótsgljúfur, as public transport options are limited. The taxi ride can take approximately 30 minutes and may cost around 15,000 ISK.
