From Akureyri, drive south on Route 1 for about 60 km until you reach the town of Blönduós. Exit onto Route 75 towards Húnavatnssýsla. Continue on Route 75 for approximately 30 km, then take a left onto Heiðmerkurvegur road. Þjóðhátíðarlundur is located at Heiðmerkurvegur, 161, approximately 5 minutes from your turn. There is no toll on this route.

Take a bus from Akureyri to Blönduós, which typically takes around 1.5 hours. Once in Blönduós, transfer to a local bus heading towards Húnavatnssýsla. Inform the driver that you wish to get off at Heiðmerkurvegur. After disembarking, Þjóðhátíðarlundur will be a short walk away (approximately 10 minutes). Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary.
