Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Akureyri, head south on Route 1 (the Ring Road) towards Reykjavík. The journey takes approximately 4.5 to 5 hours. Once you reach Reykjavík, follow the signs for Sæbraut. • Public Transportation - Bus

  To reach Sun Voyager via public transportation, take a bus from Akureyri to Reykjavík. You can use the Strætó bus service, which operates regular routes. The journey will take about 5-6 hours. Once you arrive at the Reykjavík bus terminal (BSÍ), transfer to bus line 1, which heads towards the coastal area. Get off at the Harpa Concert Hall stop, and from there, it is a short 5-minute walk to Sun Voyager.

• Walking

  If you're already in Reykjavík, Sun Voyager is easily accessible by walking. From the Harpa Concert Hall, head east along the waterfront path for about 10 minutes. The sculpture will be on your left, just past the path along the coastline.

  If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from your location in Reykjavík. The cost will vary based on distance, but expect to pay around 2000-3000 ISK for a short trip to Sun Voyager. The taxi ride should take about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.
