If you're driving, start from Akureyri, which is the nearest major town. Take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading east. After about 50 kilometers, take the exit for Route 87 towards Reykjahlíð. Follow Route 87 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach Reykjahlíð. From there, continue on Route 1 briefly until you see the signs for Stóragjá. Follow the signs for about 5 kilometers; you will see a small parking area. Ensure you have a GPS or map handy as some sections may not be well-marked.
