Car
If you are driving from the town of Blönduós, head west on Route 1 (the Ring Road) for about 25 km. Take the exit onto Route 68 towards Húnavatnshreppur and continue for approximately 18 km. You'll pass through several small villages. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Þrístapar. The final destination is located at GPS coordinates 65.5012878, -20.3981825, or you can input 'GJ22+GP8, 541 Húnavatnshreppur' into your GPS. Parking is available nearby.
Public Transportation
From the town of Blönduós, take a bus towards Húnavatnshreppur. Check the local bus schedule in advance, as public transport may not run frequently. Once you arrive at Húnavatnshreppur, you will need to walk approximately 4 km to reach Þrístapar. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and check the weather conditions, as the terrain can be uneven.
Taxi
If you prefer not to drive or take public transportation, consider hiring a taxi from Blönduós directly to Þrístapar. This option may be more expensive, typically costing around 10,000 ISK to 15,000 ISK depending on the distance and time of day. Confirm prices with the taxi company beforehand.
