If you are driving from the main town of Reykjanesbær, start on Route 41 and head southwest towards Grindavík. After about 20 minutes, take the exit onto Route 43 towards Sandvík. Continue on Route 43 for approximately 15 minutes. When you reach the fork in the road, keep to the right to stay on Froad Sandvíkurslóði. Stóra Sandvík will be on your left side after a few minutes of driving. Parking is available near the site.

To reach Stóra Sandvík via public transportation, take a bus from Reykjanesbær to Grindavík. Check the local bus schedule for departure times, as they can vary. Once you arrive in Grindavík, you will need to transfer to a local taxi service to reach Stóra Sandvík, as there are no direct bus routes. Taxis can be booked in advance or found at the bus station. The taxi ride will take about 15-20 minutes and might cost around 3,000 to 4,000 ISK.
