Bus
From Reykjavik city center, walk to the BSI Bus Terminal located at Vatnsmýrarvegur 10. You can catch the bus number 42 heading towards 'Hengill'. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Make sure to inform the driver that you are going to Hengill. The bus will drop you at the nearest stop, and from there, you can walk to the scenic viewpoints of Hengill.
Walking
If you prefer to walk and enjoy the scenery, you can start from the Hallgrímskirkja church, which is a well-known landmark in Reykjavik. Head south on Skólavörðustígur street and then take a left on Hringbraut road. Continue walking straight until you reach the outskirts of the city. The walk to Hengill will take approximately 2-3 hours, so wear comfortable shoes and bring water.

You can also take a taxi from anywhere in Reykjavik directly to Hengill. Simply ask the taxi driver to take you to Hengill, and they will know the destination. The ride will take around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. It's advisable to confirm the fare beforehand or ensure the meter is running.
