Getting There
Walking
From the center of Selfoss, head north on Aðalgata street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Lækjargata. Turn left onto Lækjargata and walk until you reach the bus station, which is located on the right side. From the bus station, take the bus number 1 towards Kópavogur. Stay on the bus for about 25 minutes. Once you arrive at Kópavogur, get off at the stop closest to Heiðmörk, which is located near the Kópavogur church. Once you get off, head south on the main road, keeping the church on your left. Continue straight until you reach the entrance to Heiðmörk, where you can enjoy the beautiful trails and scenery.
Public Transport
Starting from the Selfoss bus terminal, take bus number 1 towards Reykjavik. This bus runs frequently and will take you to Kópavogur. After approximately 25 minutes, get off at the Kópavogur stop. From there, you will need to walk for about 15 minutes to reach Heiðmörk. Head south on the main road, and once you see the sign for Heiðmörk National Forest, turn left and follow the path into the forest.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Selfoss at any of the local shops. Start at the main square and head northwest on Aðalgata. Take the cycle path that leads towards Kópavogur. Follow the signs for the cycling route, which will take you through some scenic areas. The ride will take approximately 40 minutes, and you will arrive at Heiðmörk National Forest.
