Puffins and guide did not disappoint

George our guide was very personable and the six of us had pleasant conversations as we traveled the gorgeous valley and into the mountain passes on our way to see the puffins. They did not disappoint and were quite comical as they would pop up out of their burrows or come flapping in from the ocean. Highly recommend this tour.

I booked this very special excursion many months ago to see the Puffins in the Borgadfjordur Eystri during our brief stop with Viking in the wonderful tiny town of Seydisfjordur in Eastern Iceland. Our very knowledgeable and patient driver/guide Runar was waiting for us in the little shop as we exited the ship, and we enjoyed the next 4 hours so much driving peacefully up and down and around the mountains. The Puffins were so adorable! Many many many hanging out all around and in/out of their indvidual nest/burrows in the hillside above the ocean. The scenery was magnificent. Our driver offered additional stops (including for the well publicized fish soup) but we opted to head back to the ship to catch the last town walking tour and musical performance. This is not an inexpensive tour - but everything in Iceland is expensive and this flexibility and break from the larger bus tours was such a treat! Viatour kept us informed at every step. I am so grateful that this private tour was offered and available.
